Jacqueline Fernandez, a Sri Lankan actor hailing from Bahrain's Manama was raised in a multicultural family. Jacqueline's father Elroy is from Sri Lanka (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother, Kim is a Malaysian. She has two younger brothers as well as an older sister. In the 1980s, her parents fled to Bahrain because of civil war on Sri Lanka. This is why she was both born and raised in Bahrain. After her schooling in Bahrain, she was awarded the Scholarship to pursue a degree at the University of Sydney, where she earned a master's degree in Media and Communications in Sydney, Australia. A lover of cultures and different languages, she attended Berlitz Language School in which she learned Spanish as well as enhancing her French and Arabic. In 2006 she was named Miss Sri Lanka. Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2006 in March 2006, and was also a contestant for Miss Universe 2006. After winning Miss Sri Lanka title in 2006, she took on the world of television. She hosted a program that was a business show in Sri Lanka known as Lanka Business Report. Padukone (the daughter of former badminton player Prakash Padukone) was born and grew up in Bangalore. She played badminton at the national championships while young teenagers, however she decided to give her sports career up to become a model. Padukone was born in Mangalore, Indian. Her native language Konkani is where she comes from. Padukone is located within the Kundapura Taluk of Karnataka's Udupi District. The father of her, Prakash Padukone, is an ex-badminton player with world-class fame, while her mother is a travel agent.
